Patient Journey Mapping: Indigenous Patient Experiences in the Healthcare Setting

Overview:  This webinar will be tailored to CMBES members, and practical advice will be shared about what biomedical/clinical/medical engineering departments can do to help break systemic barriers affecting Indigenous populations based on the results from Indigenous patient journey maps. We will hear firsthand from Indigenous patients what tangible changes we can make to:

• Identify recurring issues in healthcare environments, including Indigenous-specific discrimination and racism

• Recognize the importance of Indigenous Cultural services and insights for providing more culturally safe care

• Reflect on priorities for change that emerged from patient experiences

• Reflect on our own cultural safety journey and identify opportunities to take action
